Today we depart on a 1 day sail to Hayman Island of the Whitsunday Islands,
very close to the Great Barrier Reef!

We sailed on a catamaran called "On the Edge."

On the Edge is the fastest sail boat in Airlie Beach, we were cruising
along at 22.5 knots, not sure how fast that is in mph. When approaching
the island there was some nice scenery.

We finally made it to Hayman Island and anchored and took a dingy to the
beach to do some snorkeling.

The beach had no sand but was all dead coral, the coral wasn't sharp,
but smooth from the waves. I would have collected some, but everything
is protected so there are heavy fines for collecting. I took some photographs
with an underwater camera, there was incredible coral and fish life all
over. I took a little walk after snorkeling and got a good view of the
beach.

On the way home it was a little overcast but incredible scenery.

Sid and Chris were hanging out on the nets in the front of the catamaran
on the way home.

I volunteered when it came time to lower the sails, hard work!
Overall it was a great sail, extremely hot, but fun. Tomorrow we leave
for our 3 day/3 night sail to the Great Barrier Reef.
